Accursed Lands
Accursed Lands (AL) has been online for close to ten years. It is a free MUD with a volunteer staff and a relatively small, but loyal, playerbase. AL is a roleplay-enforced MUD, and its staff intends to craft it into a full-fledged RPI (roleplay-intensive MUD) once beta-testing is complete.
Players who create an account on AL find themselves in the world of Terrinor: a low-fantasy, post-apocalyptic world with a dark-ages level of technology. Like Earth, Terrinor has a varied range of ecosystems spanning a good many geographic regions. Unlike Earth, Terrinor is home to a slew of sentient species; various types of thinking beings can be found flying through the clouds, inhabiting the seas, living in the vast underworld, or just going about their business on the surface of one of the expansive continents.
When you enter a virtual world as immersive as AL, you are expected and required to roleplay faithfully. You must act out your character's life, and possibly your character's untimely death, to the best of your ability. To do any less would shortchange your fellow players by robbing them of the fully immersive experience they deserve. Have fun and participate in the interactive story that is Accursed Lands!
