New players are the life's-blood of a MUD.

One of the easiest and most effective ways you can help attract new players is by voting for AL on various online web polls. On the left side of the screen under the "Vote for Accursed Lands" header are several links to some of the more popular mud lists. You may be required to create and log in to an account on these websites in order to cast a vote. This is a bit of trouble, but it is well worth it when you consider the alternative - a fine RP MUD like AL withering away because nobody knows about its existence.
Write a review
Another fine way to promote Accursed Lands is by reviewing the MUD on MUD-related websites. Each of the sites mentioned above will allow users to post a review. We're confident that ALs high-quality design, fine roleplaying, and pleasant OOC community will provide you with many positive things to say about the MUD.
Advertise on free community lists
You can also promote AL on sites such as Craigslist. This is an online classified-ads list, specific to dozens of cities around the globe. It is a simple matter to put up an ad (perhaps in the activities partners section) describing the MUD. A link to ALs website may attract a few curious people to the game.
Tell a friend or two
Finally, word-of-mouth is probably the best way to attract good players to the MUD. Best of all, it allows you to hand-pick just those types of people you'd like to play with! Remember to incorporate AL into any blogs or personal websites you create. If people admire you, they'll want to find out what this MUD that takes up so much of your time is all about.
